Oakley quality is high... I took a scope in between the eyes from my 30-06. I ended up with two black eyes and a 1" cut, but the Oakley's are just fine. But I only wear black glasses, these are too gay for me.

EC - Congrats! And thanks for posting follow up messages for us, although you're probably not going to get much traction on PB open forum. (it's rough in here.) You and Cam are obviously better riders than all but about 20 riders on the planet so I'm listening to your message. Here's my take: "Not mortgage the house" means to me that I can expect a sub $1k frame w/ shock. ($2k complete?) "High performance" means to me that I can trust this bike to survive about 30 or 40 crashes before it starts showing wear. Also backing up the brand with a warranty as strong as any other competing brand. This is where the affiliation with Walmart really impacts my decision. (besides the sh*t I'll get for riding a walmart bike)

Seems like the most obvious cause of creaks was left out. Bent metal that causes gaps.
